With all the custom writing services to choose from, it pays to check out unbiased reviews. For this article, we take a look at CustomWritings.com, a custom writing service that claims to be based in the UK. They provide custom papers in more than 80 different subjects. According to the website, they launched in 2005 and have completed more than 900,000 papers since then, a ridiculous claim. We find that extremely hard to believe since it would mean completing nearly 200 essays per day non-stop. We understand that all companies exaggerate a bit, but this would seem to indicate that the company has a low opinion of those who browse through its website.
Prices
The lowest price that CustomWritings.com offers is $10/page (high school level, 14-day deadline). When compared to the industry as a whole, this is actually about two or three dollars less than average. As is the case with all companies, the price depends on factors such as the type of paper, academic level, page length and deadline. They offer customers the ability to make payments in installments, which is a plus.
Discounts
Unlike the vast majority of companies, CustomWritings.com does not offer a first-time discount. Our position is that discounts are a good way to build up goodwill, so this is kind of a disappointment. Furthermore, their lifetime discount program is actually not particularly appealing. For instance, in order to receive the minimum discount, a customer has to purchase $500 worth of services (around 40 to 50 pages!). To qualify for the 15% lifetime discount, they need to spend $2000 (around 150/200 pages). By comparison, most other companies provide a lifetime 15% discount after 50 pages, or around $600 of total purchases.
Quality
As is the case with all of our reviews, we tested out the quality of CustomWritings.com’s papers by ordering a couple. When we order from most companies, there is an option to request a 3-hour deadline. However, CustomWritings.com’s most urgent deadline is 8 hours, so we had to make do with this limitation. We kept the topic simple, but made a few specific requests such as having it formatted in MLA. For the second paper, we asked for a master’s level paper 10 pages in length with a 5-day deadline. In terms of the writing, the papers were passable, but contained more grammar mistakes than it should have, considering the company boasts that it only hires “native English speaking writers.” We are talking papers that might earn a student a B-. Not great for a company that boasts A+ papers. Also, instead of getting MLA formatting, we got APA. This might seem like a little issue, but not to professors! We would suggest that the writers pay better attention to the paper instructions.
Customer Support
The customer support agents are outsourced in Ukraine and Latvia, but they speak perfectly fine English and were very professional. However, the fact that their office close on Saturday afternoon and does not open again until Monday at midnight is really inconvenient. Another issue is that in order to contact them through Live Chat, you have to log into Facebook messenger. Not everybody wants their identity to be known. There is another option for containing them, but it also requires filling in a bunch of details before you can even submit the message. Super inconvenient!
Usability
The website itself is perfectly fine. It was informative and the services were easy to locate. They also offer free writing examples and offer a plagiarism checker and bibliography generator that can come in handy. They can even convert words to minutes and pages, which is a great feature that we have not seen from very many other companies.

Conclusion
Based on our experiences, CustomWritings.com is not a scam and does offer legitimate services. The customer agents were professional and friendly, although we do not like the fact that they do not offer 24/7 help, which is something that almost every other company does. The website was really nice and informative while the essay samples are a nice feature. But unfortunately, while the prices are really cheap, the discount policy almost negates any savings that a customer would receive. In addition, we were not impressed with the quality of the work. The papers were just not as good as the claims. Also, the wrong formatting was not acceptable. While we are not urging customers to avoid CustomWritings.com at all costs, we can confidently say that there are at least 5 or 6 companies that we would choose first.
